Yves Pépin, award winning show producer, co-chairs SATE 2012 Experience Design conference at Disneyland Paris

Yves Pépin has built a worldwide reputation as one of the most innovative designers and one of the most successful artistic directors of ground-breaking entertainments.

He was Artistic Adviser for the worldwide acclaimed Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Ceremonies. Also, he produced the worldwide applauded pyrotechnic show on the Eiffel Tower for the Year 2000 handover.

Yves Pépin invented and developed, in the late 1980s, the film projection on waterscreen technology, adopted since then by several theme park operators including Disney, Universal Studios and others.

He designed and produced numerous very successful multimedia spectacular shows around the world, using water, lasers, fire and pyrotechnics, as well as dancers, musicians and performers. Among them, Osaka Expo90, Sevilla92 Universal Expo, Lisbon Expo98, Yamaguchi Expo2001 in Japan, Swiss Expo02, as well as Aichi World Expo2005.

He has also created and produced famous multimedia permanent night shows for theme parks such as SeaWorld in USA, Tokyo Disney Sea in Japan, Sentosa Island in Singapore and Futuroscope in France.

He was consultant and advisor to the Yeosu Expo2012 Committee for the concepts and artistic achievement of the Big-O project.

Yves Pépin founded and ran the company ECA2, specialist in multimedia achievements, for more than 25 years. He is now an independent show producer and creative director for major projects.

His achievements have been honored with many awards over the years. He received no less than six Thea Awards from the Themed Entertainment Association: for the Lisbon Expo 98 night show, for the Millennium Show at the Eiffel Tower, for the historical multimedia show in El Tajin in Mexico, for the Toyota Pavilion Show in Aichi2005 in Japan, and for the "Songs of the Sea" Show in Singapore as well as a Thea Award and the Artistic Directors Club Prize for his role in the Beijing2008 Olympics Ceremonies.

In 2006, Yves Pépin also received the THEA Lifetime Achievement Award honor, in recognition of his entire work and career.
