Over the last 25 years, Frédéric Nancel has developed with enthusiasm and passion, a career in the development and supervision of cultural sites, overseeing leisure activities and events management.
Undertaking supervision responsibilities as part of the Club Méditerranée, Mr. Nancel joined in 1986 the hotel group Accor as director of operations in a fitness center subsidiary to Vitatop. He later on took part in the development of fitness and thalassotherapy centers, noticeably for the Novotel and Sofitel companies.
By 1989, Frédéric Nancel is recruited by the SARI, real-estate subsidiary to the Compagnie Générale des Eaux, to act as Project Manager in the construction and commercial launch of the European Circle, a fitness center for executives in the CNIT Paris La Défense.
He then joined another branch of the Compagnie Générale des Eaux, « La Colline de La Défense », an urban leisure center expanding over 16 000 sq. meters, complete with IMAX hemispheric cinema system, automobile museum, restaurant and reception center. He remained part of the same company ten years, taking further responsibilities as Events Director, Sales and Marketing Director and eventually Chief Executive Officer up to 2000. During that time, Frédéric Nancel also served as Vice-President of the SNELAC, the leisure establishments and cultural attraction national syndicate.
By 2000, Frédéric Nancel resigned from his responsibilities at Vivendi (previously Générale des Eaux) to act as a cultural leisure and event Management Consultant. As such, he carried out engagements for various companies, amongst which Gaumont Pathé, the Cité de l’Espace of Toulouse, les Pavillons de Bercy and L’Institut de France.
In January 2001, member of the Académie Française and President of the Château de Chantilly Conservation Board, Alain Decaux, and MEDEF honorary President, Yvon Gattaz, invited Frédéric Nancel to join the Château de Chantilly team as Development and Operations Director. A position under which he was to help the Institut de France and Alain Decaux, in the creation of a Foundation for the safeguard and development of the Chantilly Domain, chaired by founding member H.H. the Aga Khan.
To this day, Frédéric Nancel serves the Foundation as Commercial and Events Director for the Chantilly Domain, its château and gardens, the Grand Stables and racetrack (excluding the racecourse management).
Mr. Nancel is a geology graduate from the Paris Catholic Institute. He attended executive training courses in management, finance and project management in the Paris ESC Business School, the Paris National School of Administration and more recently, the Wharton Business School in the United States.
Mr. Nancel is a founding member and vice-president of the American Friends of Chantilly philanthropic association, an administrator for the Chantilly Tourism Center and member of the Chantilly Rotary Club (PHF). He is 50 years old, married and the father of two (15 and 18 years old).
