Andrea Dearden, Head of Marketing, Science Museum, London, to speak at SATE 2012 Experience Design conference 19-21 Sept in Paris

Andrea Dearden, Head of Marketing

Andrea started her career in advertising and design agencies based in London and New York, running £1 million account groups for clients such as The Tussauds Group, Unilever and Diageo before becoming MD of Attik Ltd in London. She then set up her own marketing consultancy specialising in leisure and tourism clients. In 2004, she moved to Oxfordshire to set up the communications department at Blenheim Palace, presiding over a significant strategic review of the business and introducing audience focussed strategies, achieving significant increase in visitors & revenue.   

In 2009, she moved to head up the Science Museum Marketing, PR & digital teams as well as being responsible for corporate communications across the Science Museum Group. Whilst at the Museum, she has delivered a new brand platform, developed a brand alignment programme and introduced an audience development plan aimed at delivering new audiences whilst maintaining current audiences. The Science Museum now welcomes three million visitors, the highest number to visit in the last 25 years, with new initiatives, such as Science Museum Lates, bringing in over 3500 adults, primarily aged 18-30, on a monthly basis.
